DETAIL SPECIFICATION
MARKER, IDENTIFICATION, FIRE, CHEMICAL HAZARD,
AND RESTRICTED AREA, REFLECTIVE
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
1. Scope
1.1 Scope. This specification covers markers processed on pressure-sensitive adhesive backed
retroreflective sheeting.
1.2 Classification. The markers will be of the following types, marker numbers, sizes, and classes
as specified (see 6.2):
Type I
- Fire Hazard
Marker 1
- Hazard class 1.1
Marker 2
- Hazard class 1.2
Marker 3
- Hazard class 1.3
Marker 4
- Hazard class 1.4
Size
- 24 inch
Size
- 12 inch
Type II
- Chemical Hazard
Marker 5
- Wear full protective clothing
Class 1 - Red
Class 2 - Yellow
Class 3 - White
