Kits. Letters and numerals of one size may be furnished in kit form. Unless otherwise specified in the contract
or order, each kit shall contain the following quantities:
20 each: Letters E, I, S, T, A, L, N, O, R.
10 each: Letters B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, M, P, Q, U, V, W, X, Y, Z.
20 each: Numerals 0 to 9 inclusive.
Notes. Other standard alphabets are as follows:
(a) Alphabets B, D, E and F of "Standard Highway Signs (SHS) 2004 Edition".
(b) Block lettering as in figure 1.
(c) Styles as given in figure 2.
Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following in addition to the ordering data listed in
the general specification:
(a) Whether letter, numeral, or letter and numeral kit is to be procured.
(b) Quantity of letters or numerals required if other than specified.
(c) If letter or numeral, which letter or numeral.
(d) Size of letters and numerals (height).
(e) Whether mounted or unmounted (see construction).
(f) Dimensions and configurations of letters and numerals, and dimensions of rectangles of mounted
characters, if other than Series C Alphabet.
(g) If unmounted, whether translucent transfer sheet is required (see construction).
Changes from previous issue. Marginal notations are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect
to the previous issue due to the extent of the changes.
